How we back up websites and database?

CLJ Design backs up several terabytes of data and over 40,000 files nightly. Backups are stored for a 2 week period, on-site, and restores of site files or databases are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (one-time $45 fee may apply).

While CLJ Design makes every attempt to keep exact, restorable backups of all files stored on our servers, there are times when data may become corrupted and unusable. Therefore, it is always a good idea for site owners/developers to keep current copies of all site files on their own systems in addition to the backups provided by CLJ Design. In addition, while restores are available 24/7/365 there may be instances where a restore is not prudent at the time of request due to a variety of reasons (e.g. backup of the server is currently running, etc.) so some delay may occur.

A web server is a computer with software for server to host web pages and web applications. Web server's traditional function has been to serve static HTML (and more recently dynamic) pages. As the Internet has become more functional, i.e. e-commerce and dynamic sites, increasing emphasis is placed on a server’s ability to host web applications.

What is Web hosting?

Web hosting provides a web pages and application server and networking that allows the public Internet, or private Intranet, to access your pages. The scripts for web applications and e-commerce also reside on a hosting server. All web sites must be hosted, whether on your own internal servers or through the 3rd party hosting services.
